Quilt Raffle 2025

Quilt Raffle 2025

A special quilt is once again being raffled this year, a benefit for the nonprofit Union Mills Homestead Foundation that operates the historic Union Mills Homestead. This year’s quilt is a Georgetown Circle and measures 102 inches x 102 inches.

The Georgetown Circle is a traditional quilt pattern is also known as the Wedding Ring or Crown of Thorns, a New Testament biblical reference. Such biblical inspiration has a long history in quilting. Many historic quilt blocks were based on the Bible, as the women who designed and made these quilts were sustained by deep Christian faith.

Quilted bedcovers were popular in earlier times when nothing went to waste and women recycled used fabrics into their patchwork designs. The quilting tradition is still going strong today, although more of a pleasurable pastime than a necessity.

This beautiful quilt was made by Homestead Foundation member Laurie Sieminski and donated to the Union Mills Homestead for our raffle. Raffle tickets are $5 each or you can purchase 5 tickets for $20. Raffle tickets will be available in our gift shop and at our events this year. The drawing will be held at our Christkindlmarkt in November.

The Union Mills Homestead is proud to make this beautiful quilt available for a raffle this year. Get your tickets now!

Your support of the Union Mills Homestead Foundation is greatly appreciated!
