Music on the Millrace

Music on the Millrace

“Music on the Millrace” is a new Sunday concert series at the Union Mills Homestead, offered this summer at the historic site north of Westminster, MD. The idea was to create a relaxed, inviting event to encourage our members and friends to come out to enjoy the authentic beauty of the site, separate from our other major events.

Our first concert is Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Gates to the event area open at 2 pm. This is a great opportunity to relax and enjoy an afternoon on the beautiful grounds of the Union Mills Homestead. Admission to the event is only $10. Under 12 are free! Food, beer and wine will be available to purchase. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. No outside alcohol may be brought into the event. Because we have to inspect any containers to ensure there is no alcohol, please refrain from bringing backpacks or coolers, although you are welcome to bring your own snacks.

Ebb & Nova

Ebb & Nova, playing at the Union Mills Homestead on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Our June 30 event features Ebb & Nova! Balancing on their own spectrum of Indie Rock and vibrant Folk Pop, Ebb & Nova has delivered a little something for everyone over their 8 years of east coast performances. Initially formed as a duo by songwriters Lauren Padgett and Matthew Purpora, Ebb & Nova now includes Steven Bainbridge and Pat Brynes. The band showcases enchanting vocals, distinct cello, rhythmic drums, and infectious guitar across two full albums and multiple singles. Along with their original music, the band lends their creative approach to plenty of cover songs. With a repertoire of artists ranging from the 1950s to now, they never fail to bring intriguing and creative takes to recognizable hits. Beyond being professional partners on stage, the four share a tight bond of friendship and fun that translates to their live performances and keeps audiences engaged and entertained. Veterans of the Maryland music scene, Ebb & Nova cherishes each opportunity to perform and has emerged as a must see act in the region.
